Magnetraction turns better, It’s science, its pretty much amazing.
-Curtis Cizek., Lib Tech Ripper
I just got to demo the 160 from “The DarkSide” shop at Killington, VT last weekend . . .THIS NEW EDGE DESIGN IS ‘UN-F@%# ‘N BELIEVABLE!
The Magne-Traction would “wedge” right up the iciest of wall hits! You weren’t kidding when you said it turned ice into powder! It is the best F@%#’N board I’ve ever ridden! Now there really is no other choice for riding on the Ice-Coast (when word of this board gets out, Mervin should be completely dominating the marketplace). I would have bought the thing right then and there (if it was more in my size range). Are you allowed to say what other sizes are planned for next year? . . .This technology really has me all amped up!
-Doug V., Satisfied Customer
Holds an edge like a rock climber 100 foot up and no ropes, the biggest innovation in board design in at least 10 years.
-Dennis Nazari, Shop Owner of Salty Peaks, Utah
I can’t believe how genius you are at LIB. I tried out the Magne-Traction yesterday and couldn’t believe how insane the edgehold was. I have never ridden a board that had that kind of railing power. I felt like a hardbooter on a freestyle board! The only problem I can foresee is that I won’t ever want to ride a normal edged board again, I’m ruined! OK, maybe i’ve gone a bit mental on this…but tell everyone at the factory that they have revolutionized snowboarding!
-Chris Ankeny, Team Rider Big Mountain Ripper
Fuc%in’ amazing. I’ve never been able to turn like I can now on the Magne-Traction. It seems to be engineered for people with freestyle stances, like mine (21 degrees front, -18 degrees back)….and It doesn’t hang up on rails…bonus!
-Brian Craighill, Quiksilver Snow Team Manager
I rode the new 156 magne traction and this board made my friends look like f@%$N pussies.

I rode Mt. Baker this past Saturday on my new Dark series Magnatraction 158. Holy crap. This changes everything. For starters it felt completely natural, broken in and predictable. Kind of like a board I’ve been riding for my whole life or something. It just ruled in 2 feet of fresh and sketchy lines. Two days later I rode Mt. hood Meadows on true “dust on Crust”. Your tag line “turns ice into powder” is no joke. I had the best day haulin’ ass around the mountain, hitting wall hits, slashing little pow stashes and charging through the crud. Call me a believer man.
-Maxx von Marbod
I just wanted to say that I finally rode the board you sent me and it was AMAZING!!!! I am a true Magne Traction believer now! I love it. Thank you Jeannine, Pete, Mike, and everyone else there for creating such fun! Thank you!
-Kale Gray, Future Snowboard Magazine
Hey, first off you guys are fucking geniuses….I bought a darkseries 161 wide with magne traction . It is hands down the best board I’ve ever riden. And youre not kidding when you say that it turns ice into powder. Please make more boards with this gift from god on it because if you do the snowboard marker is yours. The edgehold is crazy and you don’t catch your edge as much, if not at all. This is a great all around board. I just rode it in 3 feet of fresh and 2 hours later on some hella icy runs.. Just wanted to say that you guys rock and keep up the good work.
-Croz Morrow, Wasilla, AK
After a rough start to my morning on my last year’s over ridden Emma Peel, I called Ron at Unbound and told him I needed some new Lib love. He told me to come in and check out the TRice. Ten minutes later I looked at it and said, “Really?” Ron laughed and told me to try it. Straight back up the hill I go. I could not stop laughing! This thing did no wrong!!!! Having lived in Mammoth for over ten years and ridden over 100 days each year, I had never experienced a tool like this. I called everyone I knew. (They all told me to F-off because they weren’t riding). Great job Mervin!!!!!!!
-Kelcey Gordon, Mammoth, CA
Ok, I am a believer. Magna Traction is the real deal. I returned a brand new burton and picked up a new TRS 159 Magna Traction for a trip to Crystal Mountain and a week up in Whistler. Kengi at Snow Board Connection in Seattle sold me on the phone and I’m glad I listened to what he had to say. I live in the east and needed one board to do it all, powder, back country and the icy slopes on the east coast. This board rips through it all, period. I put my old Never Summer in the closet and that’s where it’s going to stay. I am sold. If you’re thinking about a new board you have to put magna traction on the top of the list. By the way, Lib Tech’s TRS was highlighted on the Olympics. Koski from Finland. If you guys didn’t see it you missed a great show. Thanks for the new ride and keep eating the crinkle fries during those late night munchies.
-David Petroskey
I got the magne last year when it was a limited run, i got 9 of 500 or whatever… doesn’t matter though… this is the best fucking board i have ever ridden. I’ve been on libs since i can”t even remember, but my first one was the old one with the kat on the back saktin on a pool, followed closely by the purple lynn mask deck, whatever though… MERVIN KICKS ASS FOR BRINGING ME THIS TECHNOLOGY, especially seeing that i now live in the icey craphole that is south/west Michigan, may as well go to the local ice rink and have someone push me… but with this board…. it would still feel like powder. Hit whistler with it about a week ago, and through the deeps it was still money…. mervin… all i can say is thanks.

My first sessions on the Magne-Traction 164 were at Snow Summit (Big Bear), hardly a steep and deep freeriding resort, but the “blues and blacks” were enough to get some speed/hard turns going and the stick is the closest thing to riding a “Fishtail surfboard” on the snow that I’ve ever experienced…I agree with Chris Ankeny that the full rail turn stability is similar to what I imagine a hardboot rider would experience…The stability of the Magne-Traction, particularly with straight line speed is unreal, no chatter, no bounce, no vibration despite the board having so “much camber and life” built in…You can “feel the life of the board regarding the camber” as soon as you strap in and “it rewards you” by turning hard, going as fast as shit…The edges do not have that typical bouncing sensation when you have it up on rail at some “serious degrees”, that feeling of cutting a steak knife through butter is no exaggeration…Taking the Quiksilver Boarding Team Captain Brian Craighill’s advice, I ducked out the rear binding which further facilitated that “surfy feel” which reminds me so much of riding my fishtail big-guy tri’s only on the snow…I also use Palmer Risers (due to my size 13 boots) and they further added to the boards “second to none” precise edge to edge turning ability…I can foresee my snowboarding ability and skills “going through the roof” with my Magne-Traction 164…Kudos to the “brains and vision” behind this new design that simply “blows doors” on any other stick on the planet…

What can I not say about MagneTraction, Words can not describe it.

MAGNE-SNIZZLES ARE THE DIZZLE MY NIZZLE!!
-bobStanislaus
I would just like to say that i recently got the chance to use the travis rice 153 mag trac and it was the greatest thing ever. i can not wait to purchase one for my self the board was just insane could move it around with such ease and never hung up on any rail or box i hit but still carved threw the trail like butter. and deff cant wait for next years brainstorm contest.

magneTraction saved my life…
Not quite, but your magneTraction technology could very well make me a criminal. I borrowed Thrilla’s NFR 160 magne and loved it so much I have not been able to take it back to him. I am thinking that I am gonna tell him it was stolen from outside the lodge, and just dodge him from now on. I am pretty sure that he is illiterate, so feel free to post this on your website…

My Magne-Traction Story
My name is Victor Behar, I am from Edgewater, NJ and my home mountain is Mountain Creek,Hunter,& Plattekill. This is a true story that happened in the beginning of the season. Enjoy.
First things first if your not riding magne traction, you have not snowboarded to your fullest potential!!! I have the T.Rice 153 and i WILL not ride anything else ever, if it doesn’t have magne traction i am not riding it nor putting $550 towards it. I was up at Killington, VT in the beginning of January the conditions were all right but not there best, and in julio and anarchy (double black glades) it was extremely icy and the cover was thin. My friend had a Burton Custom X which is a respectable board, of course i had my T.Rice i was ripping that trail up like there was 3 feet of fresh powder on the trail, my friend on the other hand was having trouble getting 5 feet down the trail, i had to actually unstrap and hike back up the trail to get him because his custom x wasn’t meeting the needs of his level of riding. Let this be a lesson to all that if you do not ride magne traction you haven’t really been snowboarding. also its wonders in the pipe !!!
Sincerely,
-Victor Behar

-Roger Cox,Magnatraction is legit
Yes Maam. Windblown & really choppy. MagneTraction is legit. Flood
was bitching all day. I had a grin that left my cheeks hurting. That
board is really good. It rules looking down and not seeing my size 11’s lurking too far over the edge. Plus it doesn’t ride like a wide board. With the blunt nose & tail, and sickest graphics I’ve seen in a long time, this board is the total package I can’t wait to get back up in the next few days. Thanks again Grrrrl! I’ll stay in touch.

thanks to Lib Technologies, i have bin riding 2 Lib snowboards, both magne traction 05/06 and 06/07 and i can say it was like a dream,
with that much edgehold you can ride in any conditions, i would say Lib Tech is like the mercedes of all snowboards, can’t wait to get the 07/08 :P

I bought one last season and fkn loved it. I let a buddy ride it for 2 runs and he rides one too now. I just shelled out for a new one for this season too. This one has banana tech as well. I figure seeing as magnetraction works so well, everything you guys build will work as well. Keep inovating and I will keep buying the innovations. Mag boards changed the way I ride.
    Thanks

  • Terrence Parker

I like to thank Steven Cobb underground pop superstar for the invention of MAGNE-TRACTION and FGHC lifer Pos for keeping it real, and throwing me that mean FGHC method of the kick with no landing. You would be stupid not to ride mag because if your out of shape and ride mag. you can ride all day with your faggy super fit bros. Mag with Banana let you can stay up all night and be first to the hill and stick all your landings. Skatebanana with MAGNE-TRACTION = ultimite party board. So if like to be fit or out of shap eand party all night or day Mag. is to way to go or flow or show so now you all know. I wish my race motocycle had magne tration instead of dunlops

  • John

I love the magne-traction The only thing that I don’t like is that you don’t offer it on Jamie’s models. Otherwise it’s the best board I’ve ever rode. One other thing you guys should look in to making a Jamie in a 164 w/ magne-traction. Thanks for revolutionising the game. Loyal Auburn Rider

  • Marco

Rode buddies TRS MTX last season, came home threw the burton in the garage and bought the Trice 161.5. I had three friends ride my board last season two are now proud owners of a TRS MTX and a CHB MTX, the other is waiting for TRS MTX w/banana tech to hit phoenix. You can not go wrong with this board. I feel like a mormon converting these guys down here.

  • Doug

Seen Magne-Traction for first time today, looks interesting, been riding since the begining of time, first board was the Burton Elite brand new of the shelf, swallow tail, steel rutters at the tail definatly a directional board (it sucked more or less).
I’m not getting any FU@#%^%$ing younger and hope to find some edge before I die, some of my past loves have come close. Your comments have peaked my interest I’m going to give the Dark Series a shot and will report back
    Regards

Just picked up my 167MTX TRS. Im amped about getting this thing in some snow. Any sugestions for migrating from a standard lib tech about 4 years old to this new high tech model. As a surfer, my style is heavy carving in critical areas. Any suggstions on tunning this thing in? I weigh about 225lb, @ 6,1. Any pre season advice is much appreiated!

i have been riding a lib darkseries for about 5-6 yrs now and absolutly loved every session. as winter comes around for another time i felt it was time to up grade my board. i just bought the new dark series164 with MTX. i am really looking foward to see how my riding will change, here in the midweast were groomed ice is what all the riding is done on.thanks for everythng, and come and visit were the sun shines so bright you forget the temp just swooped below 0. peace out and happy shreding.

  • sriJoshi

    Really, Please:
Should I sharpen my edges to 88 or 90 degrees (I have a Dark Series 158 w/ Magnetraction)? I’m using the OBJ magnetraction sharpening tool.
    Thanks very much

  • T.J. Edwards

me and a few guys from the shop got to try some lib tech/gnu boards today and i got shafted and had to ride the torah bright pro 147 (roxy). it was the best snowboard i have ever ridden, theres too much sensation to try to describe but if you get to try it youll understand, i was ripping 100x better all over the mountain and just the feelings the board was giving back to me was enough to make me want to ride it all day, and like i said this is a 147 womens board, wait till i get my hands on an ’09 skate banana. lib tech is what snowboarding wil be in a few years, but by then youll prolly be on to the next giant leap in design.

  • http://maryannfaithful patsy Blake

Amped up my riding. Turns on a dime. Now i can throw down WITH control. I’ll never ride anything but magne traction. Can’t wait to ride the banana

  • http://myspace.com/jess Jess

I demoed a magna traction women’s board when we had demo days in mammoth this year. it was amazing, that board had so much pop i was flyin all over the place. Shit was so fun. I just wanna know when I can get my hands on one of them things cause that is the next board I am buying. Good jobs guys!

  • Ti Archer

I started of the season on a 07 TRS MTX that I picked up used, when I say used I mean that the edges looked like they have been on a concrete freeway ride but other than that was in decent shape. I figured that the price that I paid it would be a good begining and end of season rock board. Yeah right the first time that I stepped foot on it I knew that I would never ride my Burnton custom again.
I was so impressed that I purchased the 08 MTX McKink after hitting it hard this season on all conditions from total ice runs to two feet of fresh all I can say is WOW!!
Thank you for selling magne-traction this board has renewed my interest in boarding. In my opinion it has turrned iffy/icy days into “I really shouldn’t be going this fast” days.
The one day that sticks out in my mind is the day that I headed off trail early in the am to some of my favorite little bowls. I was having a grand ol time taking long wide turns on the fresh but when I sat down to readjust I hit hardpack! What I actually thought was powder was in fact ice.
So yes Magne-traction doesa turn ice into powder, no exageration!
    -Ti Archer-

Magne traction is the future in snowboarding. throw all your burtons and forums away. lib tech and gnu own the market now!!! thanks lib for the ass kick’n invention.

I’ve had the 08/09 Skunk Ape 167 MTX in enough different conditions to finally say, yes, my favorite board ever. Started riding in 1992, Vail local from 94 to 99 – 120ish days a season, Alpental mid-weeker since 2000, 6’3″ 200 lbs and size 12 boot. I’ve owned Fat Bob’s, Zeppelin, Burton Floater etc. Many wide boards over the years, from cheap to spendy.
In the powder- felt great especially considering this is, by far, the most centered stance I’ve ever had. Switch pow landings (not my strong point) felt very comfortable. Regular through the trees of course was excellent – I will camber no more forever.
Groomers- fantastic edge hold (I ride fast) and good lively feel. This board feels smaller than it is, and I mean that in a good way. It’s light and quick and reminds me more of my little 163 jib stick than my 66’s or 67’s when it comes to quick little reverts and 180s. Had the variety pack of conditions the other day, from frozen groomed, then perfect groomed, then almost too slushy groomed. I hit the “maybe I should slow down a little” point in every type, but never felt iffy about giving the board some input – as I have at that speed with other decks. Also, I’ve never been able to lock in a toeside carve (on any board) like I can on my heels, but the ones I laid that day were by far the best I’ve ever done.
Not that much of a park rat these days so I’ll leave that review for someone else.
All in all, I can’t see myself buying anything but magne in the future(except maybe banana). I’m sold. Props on the product, and how you make it.
By the way, I’ve never purchased (or not purchased) a board because of the graphics but good god, sickest ever! QQ is a mad genius.
Oh yeah, please keep making the skunk ape 180 & 190. One of those is next on my list but I’m a working man so bring ‘em back next year!

  • Tim

I’m riding the 08/09 Jamie Lynn with both crazy edges (Magne Traction) and strange bend (banana tech) I love it, I’m definatly buying another one next year. my fears about it not being able to carve were unnecessary, it carves great and you can crank it that bit further than a normal board. it ollys well, is stable at speed, the only unusual thing i found was that it was a bit twitchy when going very slowly along paths, and that banana tech makes riding one footed substantially harder. these 2 factors are not great enough to send me back to conventional boards, I’m just going to adjust my one footed riding and keep showing up my mates with their traditional ‘boards. Thanx lib, I’m back for good. (any chance of a full wrap edge? I have already trashed my lynn which makes me sad coz i love it)!

  • Ian MacIntyre

Hey LibTECH I love my new board, picked up a TRS BTX and am totally stoked. So fun! Recommend everyone pick one up.
Can you guys make me a split-board banana?

  • Nathan

I’ve just taken delivery of the 08/09 lib trs btx 157 and would like to say this board totally rules in any snow condition and at any speed. Total fun, grinning from ear to ear.
Any board without magne or banana tech is just lame
Try one, buy one, steal one the future at your feet
Na uk rider, sessioned canada, tahoe, Europe etc
And our awesome year round indoor real snow slopes,
No shit lib is going to shut down burton, hope lib have that tech well protected. Hate to see lib ending up like forum.

  • scanny

i just went riding yesterday. it was icy hard pack but not too bad for the most part. anyway, i hit a lip at this trail merge and a skier cuts me off. i’m headed for a gully with a stream running through it. the ledge had to be a 70 degree angle and icy. just when it looked like i was getting wet, my edge bit and i went flying back onto the trail. i can honestly say that magne-traction saved my life.

  • Jeremy V.

All I have to say is that some Evil Genius has the ability to turn fantasy into reality. I bought my Lib T.Rice and didn’t have time to test it before our annual Seven Springs. All I can say is that there was one of the worst thaw freeze effects I’ve seen and I’ve been doing this 21 years. Looking at the mountain it was straight shimmer. My buddy got a concussion first run and quit for the day. The rest looked like beginners and had a shitty time. Me, had an f’n blast. It was like I was on a hockey skate! The look on my friend’s faces… Priceless …
