Lib Tech Skate on a Bingen

With blue skies, warm temps on the rise and lack of winter here in the northwest the Lib Skate crew decided to do what we know best. Pack the van full of beer, camping gear, and all the best crusty dudes we know to set out in search a place to call home for the weekend. That place was inevitably my favorite child hood zone. Trout Lake, WA. 8 miles sw of Mt. Adams, huckleberry packed fields, match stick trees, and old lava flow tubes beneath your feet. I was more than stoked to share this place with all my closest friends. Story by Mikey Swearingen

Day 1 was spent cruising through the Columbia river gorge on our way to Bingen skatepark. With temps resting at 70 degrees. You can imagine the hype that this crew was building to rip that park up. Near days end, we got a call from the fire demon himself, Jamie Lynn. Hoping to link up with us that night. And that’s just what we did. After a long day and night packed full of hotdogs and beer, we tried to rest through the near freezing night. Only to get some warm relief the next morning.

Day two. To wake up in this gorgeous place to warm sun rays, is more than enough to stoke the crew.
But that alone isn’t enough to fuel the fire of 9 dirt balls. I cruised us over to my favorite child hood cafe, and bought the boys breakfast. Horseshoes, checkers, and toilets kept us busy until are breakfast arrived, and then we scarfed.

After breakfast, I took the crew for some good old fashioned spelunking. First to some natural land bridges, then to the cheese caves. We were all so hyped, but especially Jamie J’s daughter Marley. After a couple hours of spirit building, hiking, and doobie smoking. We were ready to roll back to bingen to shred before all parting ways.

“We’re in the business of stoke, and right now….business is good” – Jamie Lynn

High fives were slapped, ibuprofen swallowed and coffees filled. And we all parted ways in hopes of doing this again sooner rather than later.

I was so grateful to have taken my favorite people to my favorite place.
