Lonnie Ball: First Person to Ski Corbet’s Couloir

Lonnie Ball might just be the most core skier in North America. He’s made skiing the driving force of his life for 60 or more of his 70 (and counting) years on this planet. Lonnie and his wife Mary ski more than almost anyone, navigating the entire mountain, even no fall zones, with ease on their preferred Wreckreate 100s. With 60 plus years of ripping under his belt Lonnie has surely made ski history more than a few times but it was by chance that he left his biggest mark by becoming the first person to ski Jackson Hole’s infamous Corbet’s Couloir. We sat down with him and got the story behind that day and his insight into what’s come to pass at one of the most legendary in bounds lines.
