Where’ve you been riding this season? I was in B.C. from like January 10th ‘till April 27th, so that is where I rode the most. The best part of that was probably Terrace. We had a heli for the month of February and I got to ride with Lando a bunch. On our last day of the trip we decided not to break the cameras out and just freeride all day. We took something stupid like 16 freeruns from alpine to valley bottom. It was legendary. We had a super rad crew this trip as well. For the first 2 weeks it was Johan Olofosson, Mads Johnson and myself in the first crew, lonnie Kuak and Torstien Hormogo were in the DC crew, Lando replaced Johans spot for the second 2 weeks. It was an epic trip.
Who do you usually ride with and who would you like to ride with more? I usually ride with Lando and Mads the most. I learn so much from them. I would really like to start riding some natural terrain with Rice. He is nuts.
Who have you been filming with and what is your history with them (how did you get started)?
Standard films. It all started one pipe session at June Mtn. Tim Manning was filming John and Matt Hammer and I was just shredding with them. I guess Tim filmed a few shots of me and one made it in the movie White Balance. It all started that sunny afternoon at June.
What do your parents think about your snowboarding and lifestyle? I dunno, tight pants. haha.
What’s the funniest style in snowboarding you see out there in terms of fashion? I like to play around on them.
What are your thoughts on Banana?
I rode the Lando banana in Terrace and loved it. Now it’s spring and park time so I’m riding a TRS banana and it’s the shit. So really it all depends on conditions and personal preference.
What do you do besides snowboarding? Well I always fish and skate, but I’ve been golfing a bunch lately. It’s really relaxing.
What do you want to be “when you grow up”?
Well I will fly fish for the rest of my life no doubt. So if I could make some money fishing, that would be ideal.
Mommas lock up your daughters and mountains lock up your powder. Don’t let Eric Jackson’s “easy style” demeanor fool you, when it comes to wreaking havoc on the hill, he is hell spawn incarnate. Growing up as a shred prodigy on the steeps of Mammoth, has made shredding second nature for EJ. From doing alley-oop 900’s at 15 in the June pipe to doing cab 900’s at 18 in Sonora, EJ continues to kill it. ~ Pat Bridges, Snowboarder Magazine
