Legendary surf shaper Matt Biolos met Jamie Lynn in the early 90s as both of their careers skyrocketed… Matt has been a Lib fan ever since and rides Mammoth every chance he gets. The Round Nose Fish XC2 snowboard is Matt’s blend of surf inspired shape artistry with Lib snowboard technology. A beautiful, short, elliptical sidecut, hardpack carver that rips the pow and slashes in sight.

Technology

Mayhem Round Nose Fish Construction
  • Andy Turland

    No megnetraction on this board?

  • That is correct, there’s no Magne-Traction on this puppy…I mean fish!

  • James Allen Davis

Do these Mayhem boards have steel edges on them?

  • Yes they do, but no Magne-Traction!

  • Eric Schultheiss

This board is so fun to ride, Its light and nimble and likes to turn! The snow was heavy and deep but it ripped it up. Took a run or two to get use to it but once I did you could’t wipe the smile off my face!

  • patrick leatherman

is this board user friendly enough for a surfer who wants to start snowboarding and approahc the mountain in a surfy way?

  • Juha Sila
  • You’re making us drool all over are desks here at our office!

  • It might not be the easiest to learn on, but it will absolutely be surfy!

  • Thanks for the kind words, we’re so stoked to be collaborating with Matt Biolos!

  • Andrey

How is in tight trees? Because my goldmember is quite difficult.

  • RB

This Board Rips!! The XC2 camber allows it to handle well on the groomers and the super swallow tail gives it a little extra flex in the tail to really allow you to lean back and pump carves on the exit (maybe its the combination of the elliptical camber too). With the specs you would think there would be tail wash, but it really locks in and is super stable on hard pack without being too catchy.

…then you bring it to powder and let it be what it wants, an extremely surfy charger. Well Done Lib Tech. Fun board that gets a lot of second glances and comments, “what is that thing?!”

  • RB

    Sorry, Correction ^^ “eliptical sidecut”

  • Meatus Upkill

I don’t get it. This page (http://www.lib-tech.com/snowboards/lib-round-nose-fish-matt-biolos/) has a big banner on the top right that says MAGNETRACTION. Incorrect info?

Any difference to the 16/17 version other than graphics?

If i am looking for a pow specific board would I be better off purchasing the Mayhem rocket (due to more sq. inches) or will the fish be just as good? I am 6’1 and 175lbs. Cheers!

  • Pan

The Rocket will float better, see here – https://youtu.be/JnlqjTHDdwM

  • Devon

Watched this video just wondering if the fish will be a close 2nd? I enjoy the XC2 profile more than C3 and this years fish looks insane!

  • Pan

Did last year’s Fish have C3? The Rocket has DRC profile so not sure where this sits in the profile range. I’d imagine both will be great and there’s also the Woodsmith Coho!

  • Andi

Hi ! But how is in tight trees ? Is maneuverable easily ?

  • Josh

I rode the Mayhem Fish last year at a demo and I can’t stop thinking about it. This board connects with the earth in way that made the steep steeper, yet the way it handles it with a solid grip. The carve it had just made me want to slash everything, you can feel its surf the earth pull. You brewed up something magical in this one. Out of curiosity, could there ever be a splitboard of this? I’d be willing to test the possibilities should the opportunity arise. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7802bcd060c444fe2b87ba1ae010d5eb3ad6aca1f3f0459d58cf1f5f991440ee.jpg

OMFG, This is the most fun board I’ve ridden in a very long time. Poppy, floaty, surfy, carvy…! It’s a very lively ride.
I Demoed it on Sat. then I returned my Burton “Flight Attendant” so I could buy this board.
