Fredi Kalbermatten wanted an all terrain freestyle snowboard that was precise, powerful, playful, jibby, carvy and kills it when the pow gets good. Fredi and our experiMENTAL Division combined a floaty nose with a directional C3, mellower nose camber and a bit of taper angle to create the Swiss Knife C3 snowboard.

“It’s the best snowboard I’ve ever ridden.”– Fredi Kalbermatten

  • DESIGNED WITH RIPPING BIG MOUNTAINS LIKE SWIZERLAND’S SAAS FEE IN MIND
  • FLOATY NOSE AND TAPER ANGLE MAKE THIS A POWDER SLAYER

Art by Thomas Hurter & Benjamin Siegenthaler

is the tail stiffer in flex than the nose?

  • Yeah you will probably find that the tail feels stiffer, it will help you stay afloat!

  • ted

Is this the same board as the 16/17 model with the owl , anything change yr to yr?

  • Roland Czechowski

Anyone have any reviews on this board to share? Please include your weight and level of ability too.

  • Tyler

I purchased this board last season and have loved it so far. I am 5’10 and 170lbs. Currently using Large Union Bindings with Size 11 Burton Boots with the footprint reduction tech, so they actually have the boot-print of a size 10. I have been able to take this baby on all kinds of mountain terrain and all through terrain parks as well. By far a great purchase that I would recommend to anyone.

  • Storm Trooper

Would a size 11 boot (burton ion so with footprint reduction) be ok on the 161?

  • duderonomy

Is this board available in a 155? I didn’t see it in the board finder application, I am assuming it would fit the bill for a 135 lb, 5’8″ Alpental veteran. I ask because I bit off more than i can chew with my 2012 161 dark series and need to reevaluate the way I choose my boards. My previous three boards (emma peel, dave lee and trs have all been in the 160 neighborhood, and I rallied those just fine. The board finder says I should be looking at 153-155 boards based on my weight regardless of use, terrain or experience. Have I let machismo get the best of me or is the technology really progressing to the point that I can get away with a much smaller board these days? Thank you

something slightly wider would be more ideal, but with a size 10 footprint, you should be okay on it… as long as you aren’t running a too-narrow stance with straight angles!

  • Spenser Johnson

You could have always been on a 155-ish board.. that has not changed. I think that if you were to go with the 55, you’d find it to float better than a larger non-tapered C3 board because of the shape, but there’s always a trade off somewhere. is downsizing something that will do anything positive for you? were your other boards too big? if you’ve liked your 160-rangers but maybe wanna tone it down from the 61 dark series, try the Swiss Knife 158… in my opinion, at least.

I’m 5’11 and 150lbs.. my sweet spot tends to be 159. I’m about to order a swiss knife 161, as I want it a little more on the freeridey end.

  • Storm Trooper

I probably won’t take the risk and will just go for the billy goat 162mw instead

  • Hi Duderonomy yes it is available in the 155.
