Is there any hope of a Lib Tech Longboard is the near future?

  • Eventually we’ll be releasing another shape for big humans and weekend warrirors–but we’re not sure about the details yet!

  • Eric Davis

I am waiting and hoping for this release…I am a beginner surfer and a long time Lib snowboarder…I just wish to buy my first Lib water board and want to stay loyal to the brand. Love you guys, just wish there was one board that was kind of for someone looking for entry in the sport as far as size and shape goes. I believe you would sell many of these. I’m looking for 2 myself. Hopefully its not too long of a wait.

  • This is a great board to learn and progress on, I’m not sure if I’d recommend it for your absolute first time ever surfing (I’d rent a foamy for your first few days), but after you get a feel for it, the Extension Ramp is a KILLER board. I don’t know what the timeline is on more shapes, or what sizes we’ll have. But I do know that this board rules for learning and snowboarders who like to surf.

  • Eric Davis

Thats cool. All I know is my first waterboard will be a Lib. I just hope I don’t have to wait a year for a new longer shape to come out. If this was a 7’6″ i’de probably just jump in and buy it…The whole 6′ thing has me scared a little to jump on such a short board at first. Hopefully there has been some demand for a longer board and i’ll grab one or two of those for my wife and I.

  • Brett Spurr

Want one of these bad, but I weigh 240… were’s that 7+ version at? need some more volume!

  • We plan on building bigger boards in the future, but we don’t exactly have a timeline set up yet.
But you might be surprised with how well these puppies float–you can definitely go a liter or two smaller than your traditional polyester board and still get the same buoyancy and performance out of it.

  • Nate Musson

    6’4″ Puddle Jumper please!!!

  • andrew

Im 5’10 195 and have been using a 9’6 board for a few years as I learned the sport but looking to try something a little shorter. A friend recommended I check out you guys. Would this acomodate a gentleman of my stature? Good board to transition to you think?

  • Hi Andrew,
This board will be a 3 foot jump down from your 9’6–so it is going to feel a lot different.
But it is absolutely what I would recommend for someone wanting a hybrid shape for catching tons of waves on!

  • Scott McMahon

Hello, I am thinking of purchasing this board. I am 5’7″ and 185lbs, currently ride a 9′ long board. Want to stat progressing, I reside south vancouver island and spend most of my time in short washy waves. would this board work for me? Cheers, Scott

  • Hi Scott,
The Extension Ramp was pretty much built for surfers like you.
We’re a bunch of weekend warrior snowboard surfers here at our Seattle office, and this board is the go-to for us.
It’s not a shortboard or longboard. It’s just lots of fun and easy to catch waves on.

  • Jeff Havranek

Where can I pick up a 6’6″ extension ramp near the Seattle area? NWS comes up as a local dealer but they don’t have any surf gear in stock. Thanks!

  • Urban Surf!

  • Jeff Havranek

They had one in stock! Picked it up yesterday, can’t wait to paddle it out. Thanks!

  • Nice! Enjoy the new board and thanks so much for supporting your local shop!

  • hadley

    DOUGH BOY

  • Altamirano

hello!!! I am a beginner surfer and my weight is 165lbs and my height is 177 cm. My question is if the extension ramp can be used for my learning? Thanks!!

  • Yes absolutely! The Extension Ramp is definitely our most beginner-friendly board.

  • Cameron Pasteyc Vann

No one has this board… Mervin wont return my calls. Where can i get 2 of these locally in seattle?

  • Cameron Pasteyc Vann

What! i called them 2 weeks ago and they didnt have anything.
    Enjoy!!

  • Hi Cameron,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble getting ahold of us–we have a small customer service team, so occasionally calls go unanswered, but it is not intentional! Have you left voicemails? I will try to do some investigating, but we are in the office Monday-Thursday from around 7:30am-5:30pm.

As for Extension Ramps, I am not sure if any shops in the Seattle area currently have these boards on hand. We released a collaboration with …Lost (the Puddle Jumper) this spring and the demand for surf has sky rocketed! It’s been hard to build our boards fast enough to keep up. Now that summer is winding down supplies are pretty limited. But we are in the process of building more and hope to get them in the doors of shops as soon as possible. My guess is that Urban Surf will have them before the month is over.

But if it’s urgent and you’re really excited and want one NOW, a couple shops in Oregon appear to have them:

  • Dan

I want one of these! When will be available online or to shops in Canada so I can get one? Thanks!

  • Timmy

email Mike, he will hook you up. $$$ talks neighbor.

  • Jeff Crawford

Aloha, I have one for you. Of course, you will have to pay to ship it to Canada. Unless you would rather pick up at Rocky Point.

  • JDog

Where can I get one of these. I’ve seen a couple available on Ebay but they are coming out of Hawaii and 150 to ship on top of the sale. It would suck to spend that much and have a board that has no warranty.

I’m in the states now, but would love to find one here. If not maybe in France, when I go home, but I can’t find anything in France.

  • xtrnlblrf

Killer board. wish they had graphic options tho

  • Jeff Chaiprakob

Hello. I’m a beginning surfer 5’8″, 170 lbs, good fitness, surfing mostly small mushy waves in the florida panhandle. would an Extension Ramp or Puddle Jumper be a better first board purchase?

  • carlos figueras

Hello i have a 5.10 bowl and a longboard.I m thinking to change the long and take this board. My first question is what is for libtech a medium wave (the bowl is for small to medium waves)and the second is what range of waves accept the extension ramp.Could i use it with medium and large waves where the bowl don´t arrive? 6 ft or more ?
    thanks in advance

  • rabid wookie

Hi. Do you know if there is a 6’6″ for demo anywhere in Oregon?

  • Alfred

Does its good as a paddle board
