Innovations are something we actually do understand. Lib Tech is the collective energy of 30+ years of board building and riding. Each year our experiMENTAL Division handbuilds new shapes, flexes, contours, blends, constructions, incorporates new materials and works with our pros and doing hands on testing refining and fine tuning our snowboards. Some times it’s radical concepts that turn snowboarding upside down like we did with Banana Tech Rocker in 2006 or Magne-Traction Serrated edges in 2002. Some times it’s more subtle contour steps like the new high performance XC2 camber rocker combination. Over the past couple of years we have been working with riders like Jamie Lynn looking back at traditional camber designs. Ski camber mis-applied to snowboards never quite satisfied, but camber re-engineered to include subtle banana rocker contours and applied properly to snowboarding’s two feet inputing energy and control bio mechanical model has some real performance merits for the aggressive skilled snowboarder. This year we applied C3 camber dominant banana to three different models in the line. The Darker Series, the new Hot Knife and of course Jamie Lynn’s Phoenix. The world’s best camber snowboard has rocker built into it! Ride a Banana!
Lib tech’s mix of experience, passion, technology, rippers and ecological building practices handcrafted in the USA (near Canada) creates a magical ride money really shouldn’t be able to buy… But you can! Magne-traction serrated “steak knife edge technology” provides incredible edge grip all over the mountain. reCurve camber/rocker combinations create incredible versatility, ease of use, float, carving control and freestyle freedom, NAS: what you always dreamed you were getting in a ski.
We will change everything you know about surfboards. Each of the 31 pieces used to construct our surfboards are new materials to the surf industry. 30 years of experience crafting and riding high performance environmentally friendly composite surf, skate and snowboards went into designing our unique Waterboard process, materials and shapes. Each fused homogenous surf structure is handcrafted in the USA with a focus on performance and environmentally friendly manufacturing and materials. Only stainless steel fin screws remain the same. Waterboarding is now fun and healthy.
The First Lib Tech ever built was a composite skateboard. We love wood and skateboarding but, traditional 7 ply skateboards just don’t last or keep their pop. Our crew wanted more performance, a skate that was lighter stronger and had more pop, so we applied over three decades of composite materials experience to create the ultimate skateboard.
Lib Tech’s Exo-Skeletech Carbon Composite skate:
Rugged hardwoods and UHMW anti razor tail materials on the outside, lightweight vertically laminated woods in the middle, epoxy composite fiber reinforcement and carbon springs for incredible long lasting pop. It’s like a bug with a diving board inside! More Pop? Alex Bland set the world switch high ollie record on a Lib Tech skate 44.5 inches at ASR in 2002…the record still holds today. Tested daily by Sky Siljeg, Rion Linderman, Mike Swearingen and our Kraftsmen crew.
