The Storm Factory is a massive expanse of North Pacific Ocean that relentlessly manufactures powerful west coast winter storms making fishing and crabbing in the Gulf of Alaska deadly, sending powerful swells to Hawaii’s North Shore and Northern California’s Mavericks, dumping record amounts of snow and rain on the mountains of Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California and sweeping east through Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and Colorado.
