MID SIZED MULTI-PURPOSE WAVE CATCHING PERFORMANCE FUN BOARD

An all new performance updated version of the middle size of our “mid sized” Pickup Stick Series that perfectly fills the gap between a shortboard and a longboard. A narrower round pin tail, smooth flowing shape and rocker lines with plenty of volume make this an easy turning, wave catching, speedster with extra control in all conditions. The addition of chined rails add catch free forgiveness while simultaneously knifing out the rail which allows performance surfing in waves of all sizes. Built for progression

Purchased this board as a beginner after using a friends. The shape and feel makes anything you want to do way easier. Originally I set up the board with Lib’s rips fins as a quad and surfed down the line fast for a season. Now I have it set up as a twin which makes it easy to turn at lower speeds. Best thing about this board is everyone wants to know what it’s all about including none other than Mike Olson who I bumped into walking down the beach in Mexico! Any conditions, any time, this board speaks for itself! Cheers!

Know what you're getting

Just had the longest ride of my life in windy sloppy erratic waves. Got to walk all the way up to the front and ride the wave til there was no wave. However I've been struggling on the drops in bigger surf. I realize now its a bad combo for the board geometry and my top-heavy build (big shoulders chicken legs). What happens is that due to extra volume in the duckbill nose, to level the board for paddling, you need to scoot up. But if you take off like that the nose buries under even 1cm of water (it is completely flat), you miss the wave or flip straight over the falls. There can be zero water on the nose at all, during the entire drop, and with the duckbill flat profile, it wants to dunk. So you have to make the wave, then pull the board forward (yourself backward) to keep the nose dry before the popup. Or if you're good you can chip in to the rail directly. I'm finding it more fun than I expected to be able to walk up end and stand on the nose, longboard style. But, I missed like 10 waves, one my biggest drop all the way to the bottom when the nose went in like 1"cm and goodbye. So, if I could do it over, I would probably get the 6'4" quiver killer or big Hydra for more stability and strong paddle power in heavier surf

6 month check-in on 7 ft pickup stick.

I havent touched my fiberglass boards since I got this...it's my go-to. Just had it out on a scary big day---the board does well in small surf and well enough on big surf. I would describe it as a down-the-line type board. I find that I do need to get more weight forward on this than my other boards to take the drop or it sort of hangs up and I miss my wave. And, while I bought FCS II fins for this, I'll get libtech fins next time. No dings, dents, etc. Still looks great. Highly recommend. I'll be getting a Bean Bag to pair with this.

Versatile

I chose the 7 ft—versatile board important where we are as the conditions go from big steep blue water waves to small shore break quickly, and this board can do both. I’m 5’9” 155 lbs, been surfing for a year-this has plenty of volume for me, while still being easy to handle paddling through breakzone to the lineup. Stable, but turns well, and fairly forgiving doing drops on steep waves. I love my fiberglass boards too but I can try things on this the pickup stick without worrying about mashing it. Hello from Yoff Beach, Dakar.

Great board

Still new into surfing, slowly progressing and wanted to treat myself with a board that will last, meets my level, will let and help me improve. The pickup stick is just perfect! Love it from the first moment on. Using it in mushy summer-waves, handles also better surf so far. Glides like an ace and lets me turn whenever and wherever i want to. Totally recommend it!
